These are some great tips for painting the outside of a home. Our home is old, and the color on its exterior shows it. I like how you talked about hiring a painter. I can see why asking for multiple references would be a good idea to see if the painter knows his stuff! CJ Holmskovec Sonali Patel May 24, 2018 Sara James April 24, 2018
Spray and backroll is necessary when the surface being painted is porous (like an open grained wood) or dry (like stucco being painted for the first time). Refresh the interior of your home: If you’re feeling like the interior of your house could use a change, try painting a few of the rooms a new color. Over time, paint can start to wear and become faded. Brighten up the rooms in your home by painting them a new color, or even just doing a new coat of the same color. Then the last owner painted over the wallpaper. Yikes! What a mess. So glad most of it is gone but it was a chore. Thanks for the great tips to painting the house. Quality tools are key (and patience). Skylar Mitchell February 25, 2015

A wooden deck needs staining, both for the aesthetic and to protect the wood from rot, pests, and water damage. You should restain outdoor wood every few years, even more often than most houses need repainting.
Once all the walls were patched, repaired, dry, and sanded it was time to spray on the primer. Using the sprayer took some getting used to. If you do have a big project ahead of you and decide to buy or rent a sprayer, here are a few tips I (as an amateur) would pass on to you when it comes to using a sprayer:
At times, a delicate armoire or bookcase can add complexity and cost to move or work around during a paint job. Likewise, make sure to communicate any delicate items in the dining room or around your home that can easily break before the job begins with the painting service you hire.
