House was 1,100 SQ Ft and only soffit and trim were painted. Garage was 480 Sq ft and that needed 100% of area painted. Charged me $524.00 for supplies and $2,690.00 for labor. I feel like he charged nearly $1,000 too much. He did not repair any wood but said he washed the exterior and sanded and caulked as needed. Did I pay too much? Not to mention, the areas of your home being remodeled might be completely unusable and even unsafe until the project has been completed. For homeowners that don’t want or need to invest in remodeling, but who still want to change the way their interiors look, painting is often the preferred option.

YES TO SPENDING PLENTY OF TIME DOING PREP WORK. It’s amazing long it takes to get everything ready to even crack open a paint can. It does make a world of difference though. Jenn February 25, 2015
