Oil paints are a bit more tricky. To remove paint, use a paint thinner or solvent to wash out. Again, dispose of paint washout in a pre-approved area. Improper disposal can harm the environment and can pollute groundwater.

Then it’s time to research the overall cost to DIY. This includes estimating how much it will cost you to complete exterior repairs, purchase the necessary amount of paint, rollers, brushes, and rent equipment such as power washers and ladders. If your home was built before 1978, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires your exterior paint to be checked for lead. Lead-based paint is toxic and the leading cause of lead poisoning. If your home tests positive for lead, the EPA recommends hiring a lead-safe contractor.
Painter’s tape and painting go hand in hand. Tape is going to help keep your lines straight and come in handy especially when you have been painting all day long.
Once more, I hired House Painting to do the interior of our new condo. I didn't bother to get bids from other companies as I'm confident they're very reasonable and honest based on my past experiences from them. James is such a nice person to deal with. He sent Nam and Armando and both did an excellent job. They're very detailed and worked really hard to make sure we're happy. Final results made us beyond happy. We love the job they did. We will continue to recommend House Painting.
Because I used to be a teacher in the past life, I know how to make house painting simple.

The price we charged for painting the stucco wall around the back of the house was $1700. The approximate square footage of the wall was 3000. The cost per square foot was $0.56. This was a brand new stucco that was applied to the wall just a couple of month ago and the wall did not need any repairs at all. The above price included pressure washing, masking, priming and painting. Since painting of the perimeter walls usually requires very little in terms of the prep work, that is the reason for low per square foot price.
The law is similar in many states, and even in those states that require a licensed contractor for painting jobs, you can usually work for a contractor and be covered by his or her license.
