If you do decide to make it a full-time business, the sky’s the limit. The house flipper/contractor that I worked for billed clients $35 per hour for painting, and paid his best painters perhaps half of that, so there is room for some profit there. Consider the case of Matt Shoup, who started with $100 and went door-to-door, asking neighbors if they needed some painting done, then built a painting business that earns $2.5 million per year!
You’ll see an image of paint swatches displayed prominently on the Brite Painting and Waterproofing homepage. While this may seem like an obvious design choice, the colors work to inspire the imagination of a potential client. Toward the bottom of the page, you get more detailed info about the company’s services.

The Blue Door Painting website is quite vibrant with bright images that are consistent with quality service. As you might imagine, there are various shades of blue throughout. Content along the home page is summarized into large thumbnail images accompanied by bulleted text.
The section “Prep work” describes the preparation needed when painting: moving and covering furniture, cleaning the walls, etc. Sections “Primer” and “Colors” explain the different types of primers and the finishes that a color can have.
Looking to boost your home’s curb appeal with a relatively simple and affordable project? Hire a professional painter to put a fresh coat on your home’s exterior. Paint and primer will likely cost the same no matter where you live, but labor is another story. For one, hourly labor rates will be higher in big cities than small towns. Higher rates obviously make a higher overall cost of professional painting.

2. Calculating how much time and resources are needed to complete the paint job.
*The amount of paint needed depends on how many coats you need to apply, the porousness of the wall surface, and the paint quality.
If you are paying for your painting project per square foot, the costs vary between interior and exterior projects. The average painting cost per square foot for exterior painting projects ranges from $1.50 to $4. For interior painting, you can expect to pay between $2 and $6. Generally speaking, interior projects will be more expensive due to the complexity of the project. Even though exterior paint costs more than interior, it is more difficult to prep, paint, and clean rooms of various shapes and sizes versus the entire outside of a house. That’s why the overall cost is more per square foot.
I bought a house in Amaia Laguna, and its really small. I wanted to decorate it to make it look bigger, thanks for the advice! Jackson Painters July 11, 2019
The price we charged for painting the stucco wall around the back of the house was $1700. The approximate square footage of the wall was 3000. The cost per square foot was $0.56. This was a brand new stucco that was applied to the wall just a couple of month ago and the wall did not need any repairs at all. The above price included pressure washing, masking, priming and painting. Since painting of the perimeter walls usually requires very little in terms of the prep work, that is the reason for low per square foot price.
No two interior paint jobs will be alike. It is important to analyze the overall state of your space before you get started. If you are painting your ceiling, trim, and baseboards, there’s a chance you may need to take a few extra steps to prepare your space. This includes removing popcorn ceiling 4, moving furniture away from the walls, repairing drywall, and cleaning your baseboards and trim. You may also want to have doors painted and windows caulked, adding a bit more to your overall project.
